Prueba de nivel

Convocatoria. 

FECHA PRUEBA DE NIVEL  SEGUNDO CUATRIMESTRE 2023/24: 15 de febrero, 10:30 h. en el Instituto de Idiomas, Aula Roja

 Si eres estudiante del Programa Erasmus o programas de movilidad internacionales no tienes que realizar esta prueba de nivel: debes matricularte en Relaciones Internacionales (RR.II.) y presentar el certificado de nivel de tu universidad de origen. Si no dispones de certificado, debes presentarte a la prueba de nivel. 

Si ya ha pasado el día de la convocatoria de la prueba de nivel, debes solicitar una tutoría para que un profesor/a valore tu nivel. Debes hacerlo lo antes posible y siempre después de realizar tu matrícula. Por favor, consulta el horario de tutorías del profesorado.

Resultados de la prueba de nivel.

En los resultados solo figura el nivel asignado (A2, B1, B2 o C1). Tú debes elegir el grupo y el horario que desees dentro de tu nivel asignado.

Por favor, haz clic aquí para ver horarios, niveles y grupos (HORARIOS DE ESPAÑOL -primero el primer cuatrimestre, debajo el segundo cuatrimestre).

Cuando elijas el grupo, debes enviar un mensaje a matriculasidi@us.es y decir el grupo en el que deseas estudiar.

Las clases del primer cuatrimestre comienzan en septiembre, el 27 (cursos de lunes y miércoles) y 28 (cursos de martes y jueves) y terminan el 18 de enero.

Las clases del segundo cuatrimestre comienzan en febrero, el 19 (cursos de lunes y miércoles) y 20 (cursos de martes y jueves), y terminan el 5 de junio.

 

¿Qué estudiantes deben realizar la prueba de nivel?

Todos los/as alumnos/as oficiales que no tengan un diploma o certificado que esté en la Tabla de Convalidaciones.

Si tienes un certificado que figure en la Tabla de Convalidaciones, por ejemplo, un DELE B1, puedes matricularte directamente en el mismo nivel o en el siguiente, es decir, en B1 o en B2. No necesitas hacer la prueba de nivel. No podrías matricularte en un nivel superior, por ejemplo el C1.

Si eres alumno/a de otro tipo de programas internacionales que no sean del Programa Erasmus de la Unión Europea, debes realizar la prueba de nivel si no tienes un certificado oficial que acredite cuál es tu nivel.

Recuerda que la prueba de nivel no es un examen. Es un sistema de clasificación que nos permite saber cuál es el curso más adecuado para ti, según tu conocimiento de la lengua española. Se trata de una prueba individual. No te podremos entregar ningún tipo de certificado que acredite tu nivel después de finalizar la prueba. Ese no es el objetivo.

Which students must take the placement test?

All official students who do not have a diploma or certificate that is in the Validation Table.

If you have a certificate that appears in the Validation Table, for example, a DELE B1, you can enroll directly at the same level or at the next level, that is, in B1 or B2. You don't need to take the placement test. You wouldn't be able to enroll in a higher level, for example the C1.

If you are a student of other types of international programs that are not of the Erasmus Program of the European Union, you can take the level test if you do not have an official certificate that accredits what your level is.

Remember that the level test is not an exam. It is a classification system that allows us to know which is the most suitable course for you, according to your knowledge of the Spanish language. This is an individual test. We will not be able to give you any type of certificate that accredits your level after finishing the test. That's not the goal.

¿Cómo es la prueba de nivel?

Consta de dos partes: una de expresión escrita y otra de uso y conocimiento de la lengua. En la primera parte, es decir, en la prueba de expresión escrita tendrás que contestar a cuatro preguntas. Primero, debes redactar tres textos breves de unas 60 palabras (sin utilizar diccionarios ni otros materiales). Después tienes que completar la información que falta en la carta escrita a un amigo. La duración de esta parte de la prueba de nivel es 30 minutos como máximo.

La segunda parte es una prueba de uso y conocimiento de la lengua, que consiste en completar un máximo posible de 80 ítems de elección múltiple (de tres o cuatro opciones) de complejidad creciente, que abarcan diversos elemenos de vocabulario y conocimiento del uso del español. Aquí siempre te recomendamos que no intentes contestar todas las preguntas. Podrás contestar las preguntas de los contenidos que conozcas. Las últimas preguntas corresponden a niveles altos. No es necesario llegar hasta el final. Su duración es de 30 minutos como máximo.

El profesorado del Área de Español corregirá tu prueba y publicará los resultados de la prueba de nivel de cada alumno. Los niveles que se ofrecen son cuatro: A2, B1, B2 y C1. Puedes leer esta información en este apartado.

What is the placement test like?

It consists of two parts: 1) written expression and 2) use and knowledge of the language. In the first part (written expression) you will have to answer four questions. First, you must write three short texts of about 60 words (without using dictionaries or other materials). Then you have to fill in the missing information in the letter to a friend. This part of the level test is 30 minutes maximum.

The second part (use and knowledge of the language) consists of completing a maximum possible of 80 multiple choice items (of three or four options) of increasing complexity, covering various elements of vocabulary and use of Spanish. Here we always recommend that you do not try to answer all the questions. You will be able to answer the questions of the contents that you know. The last questions correspond to high levels. It is not necessary to complete the entire section. This part of the test is also 30 minutes maximum.

The teachers of the Spanish Area will correct your test and publish the results of the level test of each student. The levels offered are four: A2, B1, B2 and C1. You can read more about the levels below.

¿Qué garantías me ofrece la prueba de nivel?

Esta prueba de clasificación de los cursos de español ha sido diseñada por el Área de Español. Sus ítems han sido calibrados según coeficientes de dificultad e índices de discriminación para situar a los estudiantes en cursos que se corresponden con los niveles descritos en el Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCERL) del Consejo de Europa.

What guarantees does the level test offer you?

This test of classification of Spanish courses has been designed by the Spanish Area. Its items have been calibrated according to difficulty coefficients and discrimination indices to place students in courses that correspond to the levels described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.

¿Qué debes saber sobre la estructura de esta prueba?

Es importante saber que esta prueba de nivel que no incluye apartados para comprobar la expresión oral, la comprensión lectora y la comprensión auditiva de los/las candidatos/as. Esto significa que cuando comiencen las clases el profesorado podrá comprobar la adecuación de cada candidato/a y la conveniencia de permanecer en ese nivel o no. En el caso de que el profesorado considere que existe otro nivel más adecuado para ti, te aconsejará un cambio a otro grupo de mayor o menor nivel para poder garantizar que tu aprendizaje es el más adecuado. What should you know about the structure of this test?

It is important to know that this level test does not include sections to check the oral expression, reading comprehension and listening comprehension of the candidates. This means that when classes begin, teachers will be able to check whether each candidate should actually remain in that level or not. In the event that the teaching staff considers that there is another level more suitable for you, they will advise you to change to another group of a higher or lower level in order to guarantee that you are at the most appropriate level. ¿Qué debes saber sobre los niveles y la matrícula?

Si vas a estudiar en la Universidad de Sevilla todo el curso académico, debes saber que nuestros cursos son cuatrimestrales. Si quieres estudiar español en los dos cuatrimestres, tendrás que aprobar los exámenes que se realizan al finalizar el primer cuatrimestre para pasar al siguiente nivel en el segundo cuatrimestre. Si no los apruebas solo podrás repetir el mismo nivel, así que intenta matricularte en un nivel que no sea demasiado alto para ti.

Si te matriculas en un nivel y no te presentas al examen al final del cuatrimestre, deberás repetir el mismo nivel en el siguiente cuatrimestre. No podrás cambiar de nivel.

Si vas a estudiar todo el curso en el Instituto de Idiomas, no te matricules en C1 en el primer cuatrimestre porque después no podremos ofrecerte otro nivel. Es mejor que repases los contenidos de B2 en nuestras clases durante el primer cuatrimestre y después de aprobar los exámenes de febrero podrás seguir con C1 en el segundo cuatrimestre.

What should you know about levels and tuition?

If you are going to study at the University of Seville all academic year, you should know that our Spanish courses are last four months. If you want to study Spanish in the two semesters, you will have to pass the exams that are held at the end of the first semester in order to move on to the next level in the second semester. If you do not pass them, you can only repeat the same level, so try to enroll at a level that is not too high for you.

If you enroll in one level and do not take the exam at the end of the semester, you must repeat the same level in the next semester. You won't be able to change levels.

If you are going to study the entire course at the Language Institute, do not enroll in C1 in the first semester because after that we will not be able to offer you another level. It is better that you review the contents of B2 in our classes during the first semester and after passing the February exams you can continue with C1 in the second semester.

¿Cómo te informas de tus resultados después de realizar la prueba de nivel?

Los resultados de la prueba de nivel podrás encontrarlos en esta página. Solamente publicaremos los niveles. Después tendrás que consultar los horarios de los cursos del nivel que te hemos asignado y podrás elegir el horario más adecuado para tus clases.

Intenta resolverlo pronto para conseguir plaza en el horario que más te convenga. El Instituto de Idiomas trata de satisfacer todas las necesidades de los/as alumnos/as, pero si un grupo no tiene capacidad para más estudiantes, deberás elegir otro del mismo nivel. No podrás asistir a una clase de un grupo y a otra de otro grupo.

How do you find out about your results after taking the placement test?

The results of the level test an be found on this page. We will only publish the levels. Then you will have to consult the schedules of the courses of the level that we have assigned to you and choose the most appropriate schedule for your classes.

Try to sort it all out as soon as possible in order to get into a class at a time and place that suits you. The Language Institute tries to meet all the needs of the students, but if a group does not have capacity for more students, you must choose a different one of the same level. You will not be able to attend one class in one group and another in another group.

Cambios de nivel

Si quieres cambiar de grupo o consideras que no estás en el nivel que te corresponde, contacta con el/la profesor/a del grupo al que quieres cambiar (puedes encontrar aquí todos los correos electrónicos de contacto):

• Si deseas cambiar de grupo dentro del mismo nivel debes escribirle un correo electrónico para saber si hay plazas libres.
• Si deseas cambiar de nivel escribe para concertar una cita con el/la profesor/a para que valore si puedes hacerlo.

Si el/la profesor/a estima que el cambio es favorable, escribirá un mensaje a la Secretaría del centro donde estés matriculado/a y te pondrá en copia para que estés informado de la gestión del cambio que solicitas. Este solo será efectivo cuando se compruebe que en el grupo solicitado hay plazas y se te confirme por correo electrónico.

El plazo límite para cualquier cambio será:

- 1º cuatrimestre: por determinar.

- 2º cuatrimestre: por determinar. 

Level changes

If you want to change groups or you consider that you are not in the level that corresponds to you, please contact the teacher of the group you want to change to (you can find all the contact e-mails here):

• If you wish to change groups within the same level you must write an email to the teacher to find out if there are vacancies.
• If you wish to change level write to make an appointment with the teacher to see if you can do it.

If the teacher considers that the change is favorable, he/she will write a message to the secretary of the center where you are enrolled and will copy you so that you will be informed of the change you are requesting. This will only be effective when it is verified that there are places in the requested group and it is confirmed by e-mail.

The deadline for any change will be:

- 1st term: to be determined.

- 2nd term: to be determined.
